About My Flutes
David
Searching Owl, Werner John and Odell
Borg, all fine craftsmen, make my flutes. Each of these beautiful flutes is made from
a different wood and each is in a different key. They are concert pitched,
which makes it possible to play them along with other instruments. The tonal
quality is just wonderful and has a rich feel. The music created by and from
these flutes is truly “From The Heart” of the musician and just by the pure
nature of these flutes, I am able to reproduce a true representation of my
feelings as expressed in the melodic pieces I compose. I am just fascinated by
the way these flutes draw me down a path where I can express my deepest
feelings. I
find inner peace while playing my flutes and I just love how they feel in my
hands. Once, after playing my flutes for some friends, one of them said, “I feel
like I just had a massage.” Flute music can be haunting, but it also has a
wonderful calming effect.

Kokopelli is a flute playing god of the pre-Columbian Indians of the western United States and his figure has been found in the ruins of the Pithouse People dating as early as 200 A.D. The flute is an ancient instrument and dates as far back as the 16th century.
